All students have an assigned JHS Apple ID account. This account allows the IT Department to push out apps, books and other resources to the student iPads.
What apps can I download on the iPads?
The iPads assigned to students are owned by Jesuit High School and are for educational uses. Games, social media, and video streaming apps are not approved on these devices.
What do I do if I damage my iPad? (cracked screen / dent)
The IT Department at Jesuit will handle all repairs. There are repair fees associated to receiving a replacement iPad. Please contact ITHelp@jesuitportland.org for assistance.
Why is my iPad having issues with iCloud backups?
Your Jesuit Apple ID account has limited iCloud storage capacities. Generally photos, videos and books take up majority of the storage. If you run out of iCloud storage to back up your iPad here’s a few things that you can do to free up some iCloud storage:
• Go to settings • Tap on your name on the upper left • Tap on iCloud • Tap on manage storage • Tap on backups • Tap on “This iPad” and wait for the screen to finish loading. This list shows you the current amount of iCloud storage each app will take when a backup is performed. • Turn off the following apps for iCloud : Photo/Photo Library, Student, Books • These are apps that do not need to be backed up to iCloud and generally take up large amounts of storage. Once those are turned off, the iCloud storage should automatically update to reflect its actual size. • Attempt another iCloud back up
